What does it cover?

LicenseAssist is intended to assist members who:

Are being investigated, requested or required to attend any hearing, meeting or proceeding by a “chiropractic licensing authority” to answer inquiries or complaints.

Are being investigated or charged with an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to an act or omission within the scope of the member's professional practice.

Are being investigated or charged with allegations in proceedings before a comparable quasi-judicial authority arising from events within the scope of the member's professional practice.

When should I call CCPA?

Don't wait

Many members contact CCPA when something has already gone wrong. Don’t wait that long. Our Claims Officers are always available to answer your questions and offer advice to help you avoid the nastiest problems in practice.

You don’t have to be sure that you’re in a crisis to contact CCPA. Give us a call at the first sign of trouble. We will listen, offer our supportive guidance and advise you of the best way to proceed.

Patient's health is #1

The only time you shouldn’t call CCPA first is in a health care emergency. If a patient is in real distress your first and only obligation is to ensure that potentially life-saving care is administered. If you’re ever in doubt, send the patient to a hospital. Then contact CCPA as soon as you are able.
